The only way we are going to control this new Rota Virus is through vaccination, but currently there are no vaccines for this Rota Virus available anywhere  in the world.

The good news is that we have been advised that one can be developed and approved for use in Australia within 12 months (by early 2018).

The bad news is that it will cost a lot of money to develop and to get approval for this vaccine, even though Dr.Walker’s input is free of charge in progressing this matter.

The good news is that the Federal Government will almost certainly give us a grant of $2 for every $1 we put in, now that would be very generous.

The bad news is that we fanciers will have to find an ESTIMATED $60,000 for our share, now that is a lot of money.

How many active pigeon fanciers do we have in this country? Perhaps 2,500 if we count racing and show pigeon fanciers.

Therefore if every racing/show fancier in the country donated $25 we would raise just in excess of our estimated target amount.   Basically the equivalent of a bag of pigeon mix and we should have it covered.

It is possible that your Fed/Club has already forwarded an amount which includes a donation for you.

However, should that not be the case the ANRPB will be grateful for any support that you are able to give on a personal basis and all donations will be acknowledged.
